Pipefitter
Summary
As a Pipefitter, you will be essential in installing and repairing piping systems for various applications, including HVAC and fire sprinkler systems. Reporting to the lead technician, you will utilize your core skills in blueprint reading, welding, and mechanical knowledge to ensure high-quality workmanship. With a focus on safety and adherence to ASME codes and standards, you will contribute to successful project completion in construction and manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Assembly:
Install and assemble piping systems according to blueprints and specifications.
Measure, cut, thread, and join pipes using various methods like couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, and welding.
Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
Maintenance and Repair:
Maintain and repair existing piping systems.
Identify and address leaks, malfunctions, and other issues.
Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings.
Testing and Inspection:
Test installed pipe systems for leaks and other problems.
Inspect work sites and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Analyze test results.
Blueprint and Technical Skills:
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Understand and apply relevant industry standards and regulations.
Safety:
Comply with safety guidelines and regulations.
Use protective gear and follow protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Welding:
Join pipes and other metal components using various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG).
Perform repairs and modifications to existing piping systems.
Ensure welds are strong, leak-proof, and meet quality standards.
Other Duties:
Fabricate pipes and fittings.
Direct repair personnel, as assigned.
Work from preventive maintenance schedules and assist with development of such schedules.
Prepare client cost estimates (if applicable).
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED
· Valid Driver’s License
· Reliable Transportation
· Must have own hand tools
· Cannot be afraid of heights
· Weekend work as needed
· Pass Pre-employment drug screen
