As an Outside Sales Rep - Matting Solutions, you will be our customers' go-to person for all Matting products and services. Our customers expect expert consultation regarding usage, job site management, inventory cost-control measures, and above all else, a frictionless rental process. In this role, you will be a partner to our customers ensuring they get the best product or service for the job at hand.What You’ll DoMaximize revenue from facilities and construction sites in a defined geographical territoryVisit customer job sites to evaluate project requirements, provide on-site consultations, and offer product recommendationsEnsure customer satisfaction through regular follow-ups and field support at job sitesDeliver training sessions to other business units within United Rentals to ensure a comprehensive understanding of Matting Solutions products, and servicesProvide guidance and support to internal teams regarding product features, benefits, and applicationsMaintain and develop relationships with existing customers and their subsidiary companies, acting as a single point of contact for such customersDemonstrate and train customers on available products and services provided by Matting SolutionsCall potential customers to set up demonstrations and on-site visitsPrepare sales action plans and strategiesCollaborate with all vertical sales personnel to promote cross selling to accounts wherever possibleUtilize Sales Force.com and other CRM tools to develop pipeline of opportunitiesOther duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred3 years of sales experienceStrong planning, problem-solving, organizational, communication and negotiation skillsDiligent attention to safetyKnowledge of construction, matting, or related equipment preferred (comparable industry experience, strong sales acumen and record of achievement may be considered)A valid driver's license with acceptable driving recordExtensive travel in company vehicle to office, construction and industrial sitesThis position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.Why join us?BenefitsWe don’t just “talk the talk!” We’re an award-winning company (recently named a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2026) that truly cares about our people - That’s why we offer best-in-class benefits and perks that will support you and your family.
