Job Description:OverviewOperate a truck and drive to projects throughout Houston for the repair, service, and maintenance of heavy construction equipment in the field environment. This will include basic repair knowledge and troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and engine components.Regular Job DutiesOperate a truck and drive to projects to perform maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, track hoes, and related heavy highway construction equipmentPerform a variety of skilled duties which may involve inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on general heavy construction equipment and heavy trucksWeld equipment for repairsOperate crane for maintenance and repair workRead, understand, and fill out service-related documents and paperwork in a timely mannerConduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure maintenance activities on performed in a timely mannerClean work vehicle and work area as necessary to maintain a safe work environmentUse familiar knowledge of the construction industry including experience operating and repairing heavy equipmentRead and interpret specifications and manualsDiagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipmentSafely use hand and power tools, equipment, and diagnostic devicesCommunicate effectively with vendors, supervisors and equipment operatorsExhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safetyOther unlisted duties will be assignedJob RequirementsFive (5) or more years of experience as a heavy equipment/diesel mechanic, preferably in the fieldLift, push, or pull and move up to seventy (70) pounds.
