People who understand that our reputation lives in the details.The RoleThe Design Engineer supports production through disciplined mechanical engineering. You work at the intersection of engineering and manufacturing. Daily. You solve problems that affect real products as they move through the shop.This role focuses on NPD (new product development), improving products already in production, and providing rapid support for custom orders. You collaborate closely with engineering, production, sourcing, designers, and sales in a true on-demand manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesSupport NPD (new product development) from an engineering perspective.Collaborate with engineers, designers, sourcing, and sales to execute new, custom, and production work.Create and maintain BOMs for custom product orders. Fast turnaround required.Design new or modified parts for NPD and custom orders, including complete production documentation.Update 3D models and 2D drawings for all ECO and BOM changes.Develop internal and external prototypes for validation and production readiness.Create and refine detailed assembly instructions for legacy and new fixtures.Support jig and tool design for production efficiency and consistency.Assist in the development of new and custom packaging solutions.Conduct first article inspections and support quality control efforts. High standards required.Develop, execute, and document product testing for launches or continuous improvement.Identify process gaps. Propose improvements. Implement approved changes.Submit all ECO and BOM updates to the Engineering Manager for approval.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Solid working knowledge of SolidWorks.Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.Clear critical thinking. Ability to anticipate issues and propose multiple solutions.Effective communication skills. Small team. High collaboration.Professional judgment and accountability.Full-time, on-site, Monday–Friday, 9AM–5PMSalary: $80,000-$95,000.Roll & Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
