We're a dynamic team on a mission to provide better healthcare options for Houstonians!We Are Looking ForSomeone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.ResponsibilitiesRooming the patientInterview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts. Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures. Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversationEducates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed. Main fax line– Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)Travel to other CLS Health LocationsPerforms related duties as required.Benefits401(k)401(k) matchingDental InsuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurance Paid time offVision insuranceRequirementsCertified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant programTwo years+ of experience as a Medical AssistantBilingual preferred Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize effectivelyStrong attention to detail and accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applicationsKnowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
