About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Avalon, CA Details:In-Person Tutoring in Avalon, CASchedule: 6 hours a month; 2x a week for 45 minutesRate ranges from $25-$35 per hour Ideal Candidate:Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHDStrong understanding of foundational literacy instruction, including phonics, early reading development, vocabulary, and reading comprehensionSkilled in teaching foundational math concepts, number sense, and basic operationsPatient, engaging, and able to maintain student attention through interactive and hands-on instructionExperience supporting executive functioning skills such as focus, organization, task completion, and sustained attentionAble to break down academic tasks into manageable steps and provide consistent reinforcementComfortable implementing structured routines, frequent redirection, and positive behavior supportsCreative and flexible in adapting lessons to meet the student's learning needs and interestsStrong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students and familiesAble to create engaging lessons that balance academic instruction with movement and motivation Key Responsibilities:Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy skills, including phonics, early reading development, vocabulary, and reading comprehensionSupport foundational math skill development, including number sense, counting, basic operations, and problem-solvingTeach and reinforce executive functioning skills such as task initiation, sustained attention, organization, and assignment completionUtilize engaging, multisensory, and hands-on instructional strategies to maintain focus and participationBreak academic concepts into smaller, achievable steps and provide repeated practice to reinforce learningIncorporate frequent redirection, movement breaks, and positive reinforcement to support attention and engagementMonitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches based on learning needsBuild academic confidence through structured success opportunities and encouragementIncorporate the student's interests in animals and insects to increase motivation and engagement during lessonsCreate a supportive, positive learning environment that encourages persistence, independence, and growth Why Tutor Me Education?
