In this laboratory-based role, you will apply your expertise to generate material to support discovery of novel biologics. You will play a key role in a multi-disciplinary drug discovery team and will provide robust technical support for multiple projects. A successful candidate will be a highly organized and process-minded scientist that executes efficient experiments with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present results to project teams.Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Maintenance and transient transfection of large-scale suspension cultures of HEK293 cells to support antigen productionPurification of proteins including analysis of protein quality by SDS-PAGE and Western blotPerform routine cloning (e.g. Gibson assembly) and generation/maintenance of DNA stocks for transfectionsWork in a focused, methodical, and independent fashion within a team to meet project goals and objectivesAnalyze and present results in an effective manner at team meetingsMaintain primary laboratory equipment and a detailed electronic notebook What you bring to the role:BA/BS/MS in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field, with 2+ pharmaceutical/biotech experience preferred. Title will be commensurate with experience.Direct experience with tissue culture of suspension mammalian cell lines (HEK293, CHO) using sterile techniqueTraining in general protein biochemistry methods (e.g. IMAC, SEC) and experience running SDS-PAGE and Western blots to analyze protein purity and yieldHands-on experience with molecular biology techniques (cloning, DNA isolation, and large-scale DNA preparation)Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced work environmentComfortable working in an agile and team-oriented matrix environment, communicating with colleagues across functions and disciplinesAbility to maintain a thorough, well-organized experimental lab notebook (ELN) to support reproducibility and team collaborationPreferred:Familiarity with GPCRs or antibody discoveryExperience with chromatography (Akta and HPLC systems)Understanding of ELN best practices (ideally Benchling)Interested applicants may write to jobs@tectonictx.com with attached cover letter and CV in PDF format. Base pay is only one component of the company’s total rewards package, all regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or the incentive compensation program (if applicable), as well as equity.
