Field Service Technician (Robotics & Automation) — 3 OpeningsLocation: Greenville, SCJob Type: Full-Time, Direct HireCompensationLevel 1: $24–$32/hour (strong electrical/mechanical aptitude required)Level 2: $32–$42/hour (field service experience required)RequirementsMust pass all drug and background screeningsMust be able to travel 70%–80% (domestic & local)International travel may be required (passport needed)Position OverviewThe Field Service Technician installs, services, troubleshoots, and maintains robotic and automation machinery at customer sites. This role supports onsite, in-house, and remote service needs, maintaining accurate service documentation and following all safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform in-house, on-site, and remote troubleshooting, repairs, and technical support for robotic and automation equipment.Travel frequently, sometimes on short notice; work extended hours as needed to meet customer requirements.Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and programming issues and support customers and internal teams.Create and maintain backups of software, configuration, and programming changes; provide copies to customers and retain files for records.Complete Field Service Reports before leaving the customer site, clearly outlining issues, solutions, and parts used; obtain customer signature.Support Sales, Engineering, Assembly, Spare Parts, and Shipping/Receiving as needed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety guidelines.Promote parts and service opportunities during customer interactions.Travel domestically and internationally for service assignments and training (including travel to HQ in Germany).Education & ExperienceAssociate degree in a technical field OR equivalent combination of education and 2+ years related experience.QualificationsAbility to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and electronic prints/documentation; understanding of GD&TStrong customer service skills for both phone and onsite support.Structured, proactive, goal-oriented work style.Enthusiasm for mechatronics, electrical systems, and machine processes.Intermediate PC skills (Salesforce, MS Office, email, internet).Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to travel 75%–90%, sometimes internationally and on short notice.Genuine desire to solve customer issues and deliver high-quality service.Physical RequirementsManual dexterity for handling complex equipment and components.Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.Ability to lift 25 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionallyMust be able to speak, hear, and use hands for typing and equipment handling.Visual requirements include close vision, adaptability to various lighting, and ability to adjust focus.
