Software Developer / Coding Assistant

Students are strongly recommended to apply. We are looking for a local part-time software developer to help with an existing private software project. This is a hands-on coding role for someone who is comfortable building, fixing, and improving web applications. The project is already in development, so you will be working with an existing codebase rather than starting from scratch. The work may involve: * Front-end web development * Back-end development * Databases and APIs * User authentication * Debugging and fixing existing features * Adding new functionality * Testing and deployment * Working with modern web development tools and frameworks Experience with some of the following is helpful but not required: * JavaScript / TypeScript * React or Next.js * Node.js * Python * SQL / PostgreSQL * Supabase or similar databases * Git / GitHub * APIs and third-party integrations We are open to: * College students * Recent graduates * Freelance developers * Junior developers * Experienced developers looking for part-time project work You do not need to have years of professional experience. Strong personal projects, school projects, GitHub work, or demonstrated coding ability are welcome. This is intended to be project-based contract work with fixed-price milestones. Compensation for each milestone will be agreed upon before work begins. Most work can be completed remotely, but preference will be given to candidates located in the Ocala / Marion County area who are available to meet in person occasionally. Because the project is private and still under development, detailed information about the product will only be shared with selected candidates after an initial conversation and confidentiality agreement.
