Internal Controls InternThe Internal Controls Intern provides meaningful support primarily for the Global Internal Controls team, with the potential to interface cross-functionally and directly with the Accounting and Finance teams across the CooperCompanies, CooperVision, and CooperSurgical segments. In addition, soft skills development and networking opportunities provide a well-rounded experience. At the conclusion of the program, interns share through a formal presentation to senior management the impact they made. ResponsibilitiesAssist with developing and updating internal control documentation for Cooper's risk and control framework. Support ongoing initiatives, including but not limited to team KPI reporting, reporting automation, data consistency assessment and cleansing activities, team RACI and process standardization, linking and mapping of control fields, etc. Assist with gathering of data and analyzing readiness for process and control centralization efforts. Attend and actively participate in team meetings, documenting and tracking closure of key takeaways and action items. Adapt to and use technology to improve the effectiveness of assignments, increase efficiencies, and quickly complete work objectives. Other duties/projects, as assigned. QualificationsCurrent undergraduate or graduate student, majoring in Accounting, Finance or related business area. Have completed core coursework in Accounting/Finance and Information Technology. Prior internship experience a plus. Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Well organized with attention to detail. Excellent project management, organizational, and follow-through skill set. Strong oral and written communication as well as interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate with diverse populations. Professional demeanor. Ability to manage competing priorities and projects independently with minimal supervision. Intermediate skill in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); advanced preferred.
