Lead Data Center Technician

Technical Source is currently in search of multiple Lead Data Center Technicians for our fiber optic client in Abilene, TX. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position that requires onsite work. The qualified candidate should have experience managing cabling installations.Responsibilities of the Lead Data Center Technician include:Oversee installation, termination, labeling, and testing of fiber optic and copper cabling systems, ensuring compliance with industry standardsManage day-to-day project activities, including reading plans, conducting site walk-throughs, tracking progress, and communicating updates to project managers and clientsSupervise and train crews of technicians, delegate tasks, and support skill development toward lead-level performanceEnsure all work meets scope, code, and safety standards while maintaining organized job sites and complete documentation of test resultsQualifications of the Lead Data Center Technician include:5+ years of hands-on experience with low-voltage/data cabling systems, including fiber and copper installation and testingProficiency in terminating and troubleshooting cabling systems and operating test equipmentAbility to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and effectively communicate with clients and project stakeholdersBICSI Installer I/II preferred, valid driver's licenseNo C2C or Sponsorship is available at this timeCompensation will scale based on experience and fit
