QUALITY CONTROL ANALYST IIPosition SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Analyst II to join our mortgage operations team. In this role, you'll serve as a critical quality gatekeeper, reviewing mortgage loan files to ensure accuracy and completeness while maintaining our high standards. You'll leverage your manual underwriting expertise and QC background to audit complex loan files, verify compliance with agency guidelines, and mentor junior team members. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on loan integrity while developing your leadership and technical skills.About the RoleAs a Quality Control Analyst II, you'll be responsible for auditing a minimum of 8 loan files per day while maintaining a 98% accuracy rate. You'll analyze complex financial documents—including credit reports, income verifications, appraisals, title commitments, and loan-to-value calculations—to ensure all required documentation is present and compliant. Your keen eye and strong technical knowledge will help us maintain our reputation for quality while keeping our operations running smoothly.Essential Job FunctionsAudit a minimum of 8 loan files daily related to credit, collateral, and capacity, maintaining a 98% accuracy rateReview and validate calculations for income and asset verification, credit analysis, property appraisals, and other loan documentationEnter audit results into proprietary QC software systems and generate quality reportsStay current on all federal, state, and agency guidelines; participate in ongoing training and compliance updatesReview internal audit results and collaborate with team leads to develop corrective action plansMentor junior analysts and new hires, sharing best practices and quality standardsManage multiple priorities efficiently to meet strict deadlines and service level agreementsMaintain professional conduct in all interactions and adhere to company policies and proceduresParticipate in training during orientation and ongoing professional developmentPerform additional duties as assigned by managementRequired QualificationsMinimum 3 years of recent experience in both conventional and government loan underwriting AND quality assurance/quality control in the mortgage banking industryProven manual underwriting experience (not automated systems alone)Previous loan signing authority or decision-making responsibilityStrong working knowledge of income and asset calculations, credit analysis, appraisals, and loan documentationDeep knowledge of all conventional and government agency underwriting guidelinesHands-on experience with AUS systems, including Loan Prospector and Desktop UnderwriterIntermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloadsHigh school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferredPreferred QualificationsExperience in quality assurance services in a multi-client environmentDemonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team membersBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related fieldFamiliarity with additional AUS platforms or underwriting softwareWhat We're Looking ForYou're a detail-focused professional with a passion for quality and compliance.
