Powder Coating & Equipment Maintenance TechnicianPosition SummaryThis role combines powder coating operations with responsibility for maintaining coating equipment, wash systems, and related production machinery. The technician ensures high-quality finishes while keeping all systems running efficiently and safely.Key ResponsibilitiesPowder Coating OperationsPrepare parts for coating (cleaning, masking, sanding, blasting)Apply powder coating using electrostatic spray equipmentLoad/unload parts onto racks or conveyor systemsMonitor and control curing ovens (temperature, time, flow)Inspect coated parts for quality, thickness, and defectsRework or touch up as neededWash System Operations (Pre-Treatment)Operate and monitor parts washers and pretreatment systemsCheck chemical levels, pH, and temperature of wash tanksPerform routine cleaning of washer stages and nozzlesEnsure proper drying before coatingTroubleshoot contamination or adhesion issuesEquipment MaintenancePerform preventive maintenance on:Spray guns and powder systemsConveyor linesOvens and curing systemsWashers and pumpsClean and maintain filters, hoses, and spray boothsTroubleshoot equipment issues and minimize downtimeCoordinate with maintenance or supervisors for major repairsKeep maintenance logs and recordsRequired Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience in powder coating or industrial finishing preferredBasic mechanical and troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of pumps, motors, and fluid systems (for washers)Ability to read gauges, meters, and equipment settingsStrong attention to detail and quality controlPreferred QualificationsExperience with pretreatment systems (phosphate, zirconium, etc.)Knowledge of electrostatic coating systemsOSHA safety knowledgeForklift or lift equipment certificationWork EnvironmentManufacturing/industrial settingExposure to chemicals, heat, and moving equipmentRequired use of PPE (respirator, gloves, eye protection)Physical RequirementsLift 25-50 lbs regularlyStanding, bending, repetitive movementAbility to work in hot environments (ovens)At AIS, we have a strong set of values that guide our business and help us align with our customers.We listen to our Customers.
