Solving tomorrow's printing problems today is more than a tagline — it's how we show up for our customers every day.Role OverviewWe're seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Charlotte team. You'll be a hands-on contributor to the design and build of custom automation equipment for our customers, as well as the integration and service of the standard pad printing and screen printing machines we distribute. Speed, repeatability, and print quality are what matter most to our customers — and this role is critical to delivering on that promise. Working across AutomationDirect, Mitsubishi, and Allen Bradley platforms, you'll take projects from concept through commissioning and beyond.What You'll DoDesign and build electrical control systems for custom automation equipment tailored to customer marking and decorating applicationsProgram and commission PLC-based systems using AutomationDirect, Mitsubishi, and Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation) platformsIntegrate pad printing, screen printing, and auxiliary equipment — including pre-treatment systems, conveyors, cameras, slides, and robotics— into customer production environmentsSupport flexible automation and collaborative robot (cobot) integration projectsDevelop and modify ladder logicRead, interpret, and create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layoutsProvide on-site and remote service, troubleshooting, and technical support for customer equipmentCollaborate with mechanical designers, sales, and operations teams throughout the equipment build and integration processMaintain accurate documentation including as-built drawings, program backups, and technical manualsJob RequirementsRequired QualificationsAssociate's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field3–5 years of hands-on experience with industrial automation and control system designDemonstrated proficiency with AutomationDirect PLC platforms Demonstrated proficiency with Mitsubishi PLC platforms Demonstrated proficiency with Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms Experience designing and building electrical control panels from the ground upAbility to read, interpret, and produce electrical schematics and wiring diagramsSolid understanding of industrial electrical systems including motors, drives (VFDs), sensors, and safety circuitsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills — both in-house and at customer sitesKnowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and electrical code compliancePhysical ability to work around industrial machinery; occasional travel to customer sites requiredPreferred QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering TechnologyHMI development experience (FactoryTalk, GOT, C-more, or similar)Experience with collaborative robot (cobot) or flexible automation integrationFamiliarity with industrial networking protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, DeviceNet)PLC manufacturer certifications (Rockwell, Mitsubishi, etc.)Work EnvironmentOn-site, full-time position at our Charlotte, NC facility (13336 South Ridge Drive, Charlotte, NC 28273)Shop and industrial environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and production equipmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs; occasional work at heights may be requiredOccasional travel to customer sites for equipment integration, commissioning, and serviceOvertime availability may be required to meet customer project deadlinesHours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm EST
