Diesel Mechanic
Trueline's client, a growing infrastructure and heavy civil construction company focused on keeping projects moving safely and efficiently, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join their team in a shop and field-based role. This position plays a critical role in keeping trucks and heavy equipment running reliably, minimizing downtime, and supporting daily operations with high-quality repairs and preventative maintenance.What You'll Do as the Diesel Engine Mechanic:Maintain and repair diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable operationDiagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues across a range of construction equipmentComplete preventative maintenance including fluids, filters, and wear componentsPerform repairs on engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systemsInspect equipment regularly and identify issues before breakdowns occurRespond to field breakdowns and perform on-site repairs as neededTrack maintenance schedules and document completed workCollaborate with operators and field teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment performanceMaintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environmentMust-Haves as the Diesel Engine Mechanic:Hands-on experience with diesel engines, trucks, and heavy equipmentStrong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systemsAbility to work both in a shop and in field conditionsSolid understanding of preventative maintenance practicesStrong work ethic with a sense of urgency and accountabilityAbility to communicate clearly with team members and supervisorsNice-to-Haves as the Diesel Engine Mechanic:Experience with paving or road construction equipmentWelding and fabrication skillsFamiliarity with diagnostic software and toolsCDL or ability to obtain oneOur Client Offers:Competitive compensation based on experienceConsistent, year-round work with a strong project pipelineOpportunity to work on a wide variety of equipmentSupportive, team-oriented work environmentOpportunities for skill development and advancementTrueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
