Sr. Azure Application Engineer
Our client is an established enterprise modernizing their Azure cloud infrastructure to support a growing portfolio of SaaS and microservices-based solutions. They are seeking a contract-based Senior Azure Platform Engineer to take a hands-on role building and operationalizing scalable, secure cloud environments, working closely with teams across infrastructure, DevOps, networking, security, and application development.This position is onsite 4 days a week in Houston, TX.ResponsibilitiesProvision and support Azure platform services and cloud infrastructure in live production environmentsEstablish and operationalize Azure governance frameworks and policy controlsDevelop and maintain IaC deployments using Terraform and Terraform CloudBuild and support automated CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps and GitHubParticipate in technical design reviews and contribute engineering recommendationsDesign and implement Azure networking and security controls in collaboration with networking and security stakeholdersProduce operational documentation, deployment procedures, and engineering runbooksDiagnose and resolve issues across Azure platform services and deployed environmentsPartner with internal infrastructure teams to advance Azure cloud engineering maturity and operational standardsRequirements5+ years of experience in cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering rolesDeep hands-on Azure engineering experience in production environmentsSolid experience with Azure PaaS services and cloud-native platforms, including container hosting, traffic management, virtual networking, private connectivity, Key Vault, Managed Identities, storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Policy, and Log Analytics/Azure MonitorStrong Terraform and IaC experienceHands-on experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelinesExperience implementing secure-by-design Azure infrastructure and governance practicesStrong understanding of Azure networking and connectivity conceptsExperience with Azure DevOps and GitHubAZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or Terraform Associate certification a plusDo not apply unless you are authorized to work in the United States for any employer as client company cannot sponsor or transfer visas at this time.Walker Elliott is an Equal Opportunity Employer.For additional information, please email your resume to resumes@walker-elliott.com or apply online.
