Interventional Radiologist for VA Medical Center

Interventional Radiologist (Board Certified)MDPerm is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist to provide comprehensive radiology services at the Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. This opportunity supports our nation's Veterans in a state-of-the-art federal healthcare setting. This role involves a mix of diagnostic and interventional radiology, with a strong focus on direct patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties (95%)Perform and interpret: Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology proceduresProvide consultation to referring physicians on appropriate imaging and treatmentReview consults/orders and next-day cases (minimum 2 hours daily)Communicate test results to providers and patients per VA guidelinesPerform post-procedure evaluations and manage complicationsDeliver discharge education and follow-up instructionsAdministrative Duties (5%)Participate in: Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives, Staff and committee meetings, Peer reviews (~4 hours/month)Complete QA/QI documentation for procedures and outcomesEnsure compliance with patient safety and infection control standardsReport incidents in accordance with VA Patient Safety protocolsQualifications RequiredActive, unrestricted MD/DO license in any U.S. state or territoryBoard Certified by the American Board of RadiologyCurrent BLS & ACLS certificationsStrong English communication skills (written and verbal)Proven competency in diagnostic and/or interventional radiologyAdditional RequirementsNo history of license restriction, suspension, or revocationAbility to meet VA credentialing, privileging, and security requirementsMust comply with VA Medical Staff Bylaws and facility regulationsStandards of CareDeliver care consistent with nationally recognized standardsProvide services equivalent to a high-quality civilian medical facilityMaintain up-to-date continuing education and certificationsSchedule & Work HoursClinic Hours: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PMOn-Call Coverage:Weekdays: 4:30 PM 8:00 AMWeekends: Friday 4:30 PM Monday 8:00 AMOn-call response:Phone: within 15 minutesOn-site: within 60 minutesMDPerm is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
