About Bread HeadBread Head is a free app and 501(c)(3) nonprofit that teaches teenagers how money works through short, repeatable lessons. Live on iOS and at bread-head.org, with a classroom mode for teachers. Recognized by the Congressional App Challenge (MN-05), presented at House of Code in D.C., piloted with Breakthrough Twin Cities.The roleVolunteer, remote, part-time, semester-length (fall / spring / summer).You'd be building and shipping features across the iOS app (SwiftUI) and the web platform (Next.js / TypeScript), and owning how they look and feel. Real users, real codebase, real ownership. No busywork.Technical- Know the basics of Swift and TypeScript- Comfortable with coding fundamentals and GitHub- Good at vibecoding: fast with Claude Code / Cursor / similar and able to take a feature from idea to shipped- Have built at least one thing start to finishUI/UX- An eye for clean, simple interfaces that teens actually want to use- Can take a rough idea and turn it into a screen: layout, spacing, type, color, flow- Comfortable in Figma or happy to design directly in code- Care about the small stuff: animations, empty states, loading, edge casesThat's it.
