Hospital Field Technician - Healthcare
Summary of Responsibilities
Administer layout and installation of AIS RealTime’s RTLS system. Installation of hardware and network systems. Diagnose and repair hardware/ diagnose software problems as they arise. The position will ensure that an industry best practice process is employed to efficiently install our systems and will be responsible for achieving excellence in customer service and satisfaction. Requires 75% national travel.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage customer relationships/expectations
Deploy system on-time and per customer specifications
Interface with clients and customers in a professional manner, adhering to AIS RealTime Hospital Etiquette
Organize and prioritize work and solve problems as they arise
Work in a dynamic team environment to meet customer deliverables
Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
Respond with maturity to interpersonal team challenges, sensitivity to needs of team members
Resolve implementation issues at the customer site
Accurately record tasks, hours by project and expenses and emailing them to the Operations Manager for review and submission to Accounting on a weekly basis
Perform pre-implementation, implementation and post implementation activities
Install Server Appliance, 20 bridges/day, 80 sensors/day, 32 monitors/day, and 80 tags/day (first pass) throughout hospital facilities with minimal re-work required.
Follow project plan and direction from CSM and customer
Document and organizing customer job files
Perform to installation manuals
Maintain a hospital’s network, tuning back to full redundancy. Support value improvement by investigating, managing and testing alerts.
Use tools to set up system
Use software and/or hand tools as required by the job
Master System Manager, Status Server, Infopoint, INI Editor, GMS, AirCalibrator, Visio
Monitor system performance of customer installations
Ensuring good performance and maintenance utilizing System Manager
Contribute to continuous improvement activities
Develop tools for improved efficiency, product enhancement and customer satisfaction
Innovative suggestions for improvement to AIS processes
Participate in the 360 degree evaluation process and provide performance input for tam members and team leaders.
Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion
Non-Essential Responsibilities:
Region/Render floor plan files to CAD CSE requirements
Essential Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
Minimum of an Associates’ Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience
Knowledge Requirements:
Knowledge of Network Systems Security and Controls: TCP/IP, HTTP, LAN, WAN, WiFi, and Ethernet protocols. Familiarity with 802.11a/b/g/n and 802.15.4 standards.
Experience:
OS: XP, Windows 7, Linux
Advanced User of Software Packages: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point)
Diagnose and repair PC hardware/ diagnose software problems
Ability to setup servers preferred
Required to configure and install LAN networks
Other Information:
Ability to travel up to 75% nationally
Ability to lift, move, and transport 25 lbs of computer equipment
Ability to walk up to 4 miles daily, throughout customer site, including climbing into construction areas, basements, attics, storage areas, morgues
Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, and reach is essential for physically affixing RFID tags on various customer assets
Ability to verbally communicate with the customer in a timely fashion for reacting quickly to hospital or health emergencies, as well as for explaining to patients and hospital staff what you are doing or what you need to work on
Ability to individually navigate a customer site / hospital
Ability to bend, crouch and reach and climb ladders as needed when visiting customer sites (may also be required to use tools while on a ladder).
Ability to efficiently communicate with Team Members, Partners and Customers
