Geisinger is seeking a full-time board-certified/eligible, ASOPRS fellowship-trained specialist in Oculoplastics to fill a rewarding position in the Department of Ophthalmology at the new Healthplex in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Located near Scranton/ Wilkes Barre in Northeast PA, close to the Pocono Mountains. Geisinger Eye Institute: a driven, successful, and growing multi-specialty group integrating both optometric and ophthalmologic services. Eye plastic surgeons are ophthalmologists who have completed extensive postresidency training in this unique subspecialty. This is a highly specialized area of plastic surgery that focuses on the area around the eyes, forehead and midface. These include drooping eyelids (ptosis), eyelid malposition (entropion, ectropion) and eyelash abnormalities. They treat tumors of the eyelids and orbit, trauma, congenital abnormalities, thyroid eye disease, tearing problems and blinking difficulties (blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm).Plastic and reconstructive surgery of the periorbital and facial tissues, including eyelids and eyebrows, cheeks, orbit and lacrimal (tear) system.
