Event And Race Assistant ManagerEvent and Race Assistant Manager is responsible for the coordination, execution, and follow-up of all public-facing events. Typical events include, but are not limited to, single and multi-day Festivals, Whitewater Race Series events, Whitewater Film Series events, River Jam concerts, Yoga sessions, Adventure Dining, Winter programming, Outpost programming and all other established programming. The Event and Race Assistant Manager is a full-time, benefits-eligible position and reports directly to the Event & Race Manager.Responsibilities:Lead the planning, execution, reporting and follow up of all eventsHire, train, supervise, schedule, and lead a team of hourly staffCreate and manage all course maps, marking materials, and long-term marking plansProactively research other community events tied to the active, outdoor lifestyle to stay current on industry trendsActively be involved in the running/climbing/biking community in greater CharlotteEvaluate and manage communication between the events team and guests/participantsTrack and manage supply inventories and order event materialsManage registration for events from design to exportActively recruit volunteers for eventsManage race day setup, registration, and timingOther duties as assignedPhysical Demands:Ability to lift and carry 60+ poundsMust be able to stand long periods of time- i.e. throughout the duration of any given event with appropriate break time.Ability to bend, lean, kneel, twist on a regular basisMust be able to work in an outdoor environment where the climate constantly changesMust be able to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidaysBenefitsHealth, Dental, Vision, FSA401(k)Paid Time OffAccess to the Whitewater Center's pass activitiesStaff discount program and pro dealsOverview of DepartmentThe Events Department professionals work to advance Whitewater's mission, cultural goals, and brand communication.
