For more information click on ourE-Verify Website.Requisition No: 869149Agency: Department of HealthWorking Title: OPS BIOLOGICAL SCIENTIST IV - 64852298Division of Disease Control and Health ProtectionBureau of Environmental HealthYour Specific ResponsibilitiesConduct formal classroom instruction, seminars, and workshops and provide on-site training to field personnel with duties in the FSSP program.Prepare lesson guides and program plans and evaluate the performance of trainees.Assist in planning and implementing seminars and workshops to be included in the training program.Prepare training records and reports.Meet with program personnel to identify current training needs for their operations.Prepare audio‑visual aids and operate audio‑visual equipment during training workshops.Participate in staff conferences and curricula development to improve training programs.Obtain the certified environmental health professional credential in food safety.Perform inspections for standardization purposes.Perform related work as required.Travel up to 50% of the individual’s time worked.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.Knowledge of the principles of human behavior, learning, and communication.Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of training or instruction.Knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar usage.Knowledge of basic computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite software.Knowledge of risk‑based inspection processes.Ability to train individuals or groups of people.Ability to evaluate and analyze training data.Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.Ability to collaborate.Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to training functions.Ability to prepare a variety of written training materials such as lesson plans, curricula, performance evaluations or reports.Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Ability to follow office procedures and practices.Ability to perform inspections.Ability to handle telephone calls in a courteous and effective manner.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to prioritize individual workload.Ability to assess staff field skills.Ability to drive a motor vehicle.Qualifications
Minimum:One year’s experience providing training.Preferred:A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in environmental health, environmental science, or physical science or biological science with at least 30 semester hours or 40 quarter hours of undergraduate coursework in these sciences.At least two years of experience in regulatory and training.Must have certified environmental health professional credential or obtain it within the first 6 months of employment.Valid driver's license.Florida Department of Health Mission, Vision, and Values
