FIREFIGHTER (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT)

Firefighter DutiesYou will respond to fire and fire related emergencies involving structures, aircraft, motor vehicle, wildland, and hazardous materials. You will conduct and receive daily training, covering all subjects in the fire protection and prevention fields. You will be responsible for inspecting structures and hazardous areas for compliance with Marine Corps Orders, Base Orders on Fire regulations and National Fire Codes. You will inspect fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, sprinkler and alarm systems and conduct fire safety inspections of facilities. You will be required to respond to all emergency medical related incidents and administer emergency care in accordance with the Fire and Emergency Services (F and ES). You will respond to any release of hazardous materials, munitions, and fires. You will operate a Hazardous Materials/Rescue Vehicle and operate specialized equipment and lighting systems. You will respond to wildland fires. You will respond to life safety situations involving fires, aircraft incidents, water rescues, high angle and trench rescue, confined space and hazardous materials including Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear and Explosive Devices. You will respond to aircraft emergencies as part of an Engine Company or in conjunction with Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting crews.
