Java Developer (SOA)

Overview In this role you will specialize in technology consulting and enterprise architecture, shaping performance-focused solutions for complex web systems. You will collaborate with business owners and IT teams to optimize WAS configurations, SOA services, and backend performance. Your work drives system efficiency, reliability, and scalable architecture across Java-based applications. You will implement performance processes and share guidelines to onboard technology teams, contributing to the company’s engineering excellence. ResponsibilitiesLead performance tuning efforts for complex web applications and SOA servicesConduct deep dive analyses of code and configuration to identify tuning opportunitiesPrototype and implement solutions, including coding where neededTune WebSphere (WAS) configurations for performance and stabilityProfile and optimize RDBMS SQL, JVM heap/memory, and network latencyUtilize APM tools (e.g., dynaTrace) to identify and remediate bottlenecksDevelop and promote performance-related processes and guidelines for technology teams onboardingCollaborate with diverse stakeholders (business owners, ITS) to align optimization goals Key requirements7+ years in technology consulting, enterprise/solutions architecture, and architectural frameworks7+ years of Core Java and J2EE experience7+ years WebSphere configuration and performance tuning experience7+ years in performance tuning of complex web applications and SOA (SOAP)7+ years in RDBMS and SQL tuning, JVM heap/memory, thread dumps, and network latency analysisExperience with URL profiling using browser debugging toolsAbility to analyze code/config to identify tuning opportunities and implement solutionsTeam player with ability to work with diverse stakeholders and independently with minimal supervisionteam playerstrong collaboration with cross-functional teamsindependence and self-directionCore JavaJ2EEWebSphere (WAS)
