Position Summary
The Unit Manager (UM) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an assigned nursing unit. This role ensures exceptional resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective team leadership. The UM serves as a clinical leader and mentor, promoting a positive, safe, and supportive work environment for staff and residents alike.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, to ensure high-quality resident care.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Meadow Wind policies and procedures.
Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and balanced workloads.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support staff development and retention.
Monitor resident outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives as needed.
Address resident and family concerns promptly, professionally, and compassionately.
Participate in quality assurance, infection control, and safety programs.
Assist with unit budgeting and effective resource utilization.
Qualifications
Current RN license in the state of Ohio.
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to build a positive team culture and manage conflict effectively.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
