Mechanical Project Engineer
Job Description
A growing and innovative multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Mechanical Project Engineer for their Fort Lauderdale, Florida team!Responsibilities:Perform heating and cooling load calculations with Trace or HAPDevelop sections and elevations of complex ductwork/piping areasDevelop equipment room sizes during SD and DD phasesEdit specifications to reflect the project requirementsDevelop air/water flowsUnderstand fan/pump curves to properly select equipment for applicationUse the psychrometric chart properly for any HVAC systemMeet with vendors to determine specification requirements for applicationCoordinate with other disciplines for all HVAC detailsRespond to RFI’s for the project and accurately review submittalsUnderstand work planning and manage the design process to the available hours in the work planUnderstand the proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents and deliver appropriate documentationModify sequences of operations for AHU’s, CHW and HW systemsUnderstand both constant and variable flow systems, and properly apply equipmentMeet with contractors during the bid phase to review the design detailsPerform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projectsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred5+ years of Mechanical Design experienceEI or PE License preferredExperience designing a variety of projects (Healthcare, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projectsProficient in RevitSalary is commensurate with experience.Successful applicant must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to protected veteran status, disability, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.Please contact Laura Harrison for further information!www.harrisonconsultingsolutions.com517-906-6926
