Software Engineer - Manufacturing Data Systems (Application Development)
Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain application code to support production and engineering data systems.Design, implement, and maintain relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL), including tables, views, queries, and stored procedures.Enhance and maintain.NET libraries used to load and manage production data.Collaborate with design and product engineering teams to capture and implement data requirements.Provide back-end software and database support for web- and application-based user interfaces.Contribute to new feature development and continuous improvement of existing software tools.Support fab operations, including execution of Engineering Change Order (ECO)driven configuration updates (ShermanData).Perform ongoing maintenance and support of production software systems.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.25 years of professional software development experience.Experience with.NET and relational databases preferred.SkillsA self-starter with strong attention to detail.Ability to work independently with limited supervision.Ability to handle multiple priorities and short deadlines.Ability to excel in cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of relational database concepts and especially Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.Demonstrated proficiency in C# /.NET / Python software programming environment.Demonstrated experience with subversion and/or code repositories such as Tortoise SVN, Git, or Microsoft Team Foundation Server.Understanding of semiconductor chip manufacturing processWorking ConditionsNormal office working conditions in a climate-controlled environment. Flexibility to support a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Ability to work collaboratively others both in person and remotely.Physical RequirementsMust be able to sit for prolonged periods of times. Must be able to sit in front a computer to complete task for up to 2-4 hours at a time.Safety RequirementsAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
