AI Agent Engineer - AWS

Our client is seeking a seeking a hands-on AI Engineer with strong experience building and deploying AI/GenAI solutions on AWS.The ideal candidate has real-world experience building AI agents, LLM-powered applications, and scalable cloud-based systems, and is comfortable working across backend development, AI integration, and cloud deployment.This role is on a contractual-basis, full-time hours Mon-Fri, on-site in Houston, Texas, projected to be 6 months project duration MINIMUM plus possibility of extension.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build AI-powered applications using modern LLM frameworksDevelop and deploy AI agents and multi-agent systemsImplement RAG pipelines using vector databases and enterprise data sourcesBuild scalable backend services and APIs for AI applicationsDeploy and manage applications on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, etc.)Integrate AI solutions into existing enterprise systems and workflowsOptimize performance, cost, and reliability of AI systems in productionCollaborate with cross-functional teams (product, data, engineering)Required QualificationsStrong hands-on programming in Python (preferred) or similarProven experience building AI/GenAI applications (not just using APIs)Experience with:AI agents / agent-based architecturesLLMs (OpenAI, open-source models, etc.)RAG pipelines and vector databasesStrong experience with AWS:Lambda, API Gateway, S3, EC2, or similarExperience building microservices and APIsExperience deploying production systems (CI/CD, containers, etc.)Preferred QualificationsAWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect) are a plusIf this role aligns with you - or someone who you know is qualified - please attach your most updated CV/resume with a good phone number to reach you out at.
