Associate Product Manager

OverviewThe Associate Product Manager of Sharp Manufacturing Company of America (SMCA) will be responsible for managing new product development projects, products, and printed material queues independently. This will include visualizing and conceptualizing new ideas, researching concepts and products. The Associate Product Manager will be responsible for developing user experience concepts for controls and IoT specifications. In addition, this person will coordinate and create marketing support literature and printed material content. ResponsibilitiesAssemble and complete new product planning sheets by coordinating new product specifications, strategies, timelines, target costs and competitor analysis in conjunction with other department members. Perform objective market and financial evaluations of new products to determine appropriate courses of action. Collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data to develop user documents including how-to-guides, reference manuals, and instructions, in collaboration with other departments. Write easy-to-understand user interface text, IoT/APP guides for GUI on product and Mobile APPS. Test and evaluate user experience and advise adjustments in the development phase. Manage printed material queue of project items to ensure completion and readiness for production. Develop detailed development schedules including agency, first lot orders, tooling, show samples and printed material requirements. Prepare for and attend new product release meetings to ensure all Marketing/Sales/PPD issues are complete.Contribute to pilot run review, preproduction review, and authorization meetings to ensure all necessary parts, quality, and customer requirements are satisfied prior to product launch. Review new products prior to first shipment to ensure quality and customer goals are satisfied.Attend PSI meetings and discuss current customer activities as needed. Check plan versus actual production and sales per customer. Propose ideas/concepts for future planning during Product Planning meetings. Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in marketing, business administration, finance, technical communications or 5 years’ experience in a related field.Proven work experience in technical writing documentation. Foreign language skills are helpful but not required. Some travel may be required.Able to work in an office environment and able to operate standard office equipment in close proximity to others. Physical RequirementsWork is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards in close proximity to others. Must have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to lift and carry parcels, packages, and other items.
