Effective child support services are an essential part of the larger effort by the Commonwealth and the federal government to promote families' economic self-sufficiency.DOR/CSS's core functions are to establish parentage, and establish, enforce and modify child support and health insurance orders. Much of our success depends on collaborations with a wide variety of state agencies and private entities.Position SummaryThe summer intern will provide valuable insight into how and where child support activities are most effectively serving customers. The work of the summer intern will lead to greater understanding of where improvements can be made and what challenges may need to be addressed by the agency.Core ResponsibilitiesWork with the Deputy Director to identify and obtain performance and outcome data needed to analyze performance.Analyze data in various ways to gain insights into key factors that correlate with desired performance outcomes.Develop information graphics that convey the findings from the analysesDraft a final written report and present the findings to CSS senior managers at the end of the summer.Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of basic statistical measures (e.g. mean, median, percentages, max, min, etc.).Familiarity with Excel tools and formulas relevant to data analysis.Understanding of basic charting and graphing tools in Excel.First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.Please see Preferred Qualifications.Comprehensive BenefitsWhen you embark on a career with the Commonwealth, you are offered an outstanding suite of employee benefits that add to the overall value of your compensation package.
