Pharmacy Technician - Fulfillment

PurposeThe Pharmacy Technician – Fulfillment is responsible for preparing medications for patient use under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, in accordance with federal and state laws, and RareMed Solutions policies. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining a clean workspace as well as contributing towards pharmacy cleaning, resupply, cycle counts, and additional tasks that maintain the pharmacy’s operational readiness. This position reports to the Lead Clinical Pharmacist.ResponsibilitiesAssists pharmacist(s) and pharmacy technician(s) with pharmacy fulfillment activities in accordance with established standard operating proceduresCommunicates with staff about sufficient inventory quantities in regards to medication deliveryMedication dispensing and order processing:Accurately and efficiently fill prescription orders by retrieving medications, counting quantities, selecting lots, labeling, and packaging products appropriatelyUtilize prescription information systems to enter and process prescription ordersReview prescription information to confirm completeness and accuracyInventory management:Receive drug orders, check in, and restock medicationsAssist with regular cycle countsCollaborate with operations teams to adjudicate prescription fulfillment issues and facilitate mailing of free goods applications, consent mailers, and rescue lettersMaintain pharmacy cleaning log and excel trackers as neededMaintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant privacy regulationsAdhere to established safety and quality assurance protocols related to medication storage and handlingAdditional projects and activities as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentActive Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy Technician RegistrationPreferred QualificationsActive Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) licensure2+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician1+ years of experience of non-commercial pharmacy or specialty pharmacy experienceExperience in cold chain product fulfillmentStrong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medications, and dosage formsProficiency with using pharmacy management softwareStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively within a collaborative team framework with pharmacists and other medical professionalsKnowledge of pharmacy rules and regulations including HIPAA complianceCompany BenefitsMedical Insurance, Vision and Dental included401KPaid-Time OffWork EnvironmentThis position operates in a well-lit, mail order distribution pharmacy environment. The role routinely uses pharmaceutical equipment and safety supplies. This position operates fully on-site, with an expectation of being onsite Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts occurring between 8am-8pm. Employees must be within commuting distance of our headquarters, located at 200 Industry Drive, Coraopolis, PA 15275. RareMed will provide all necessary equipment required to ensure a functional and efficient workspace.Physical DemandsIndividual must be able to stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 20 pounds; and utilize the computer and bar code scanner.
