The Associate Dean provides leadership and operational support to promote student success, academic quality, and instructional effectiveness within a large, high-enrollment division. This position supports the Dean in areas including curriculum, assessment, scheduling, budgeting, adjunct faculty support and development, and oversight of the College Success department while fostering a proactive, student-centered academic environment.Minimum Qualifications: (A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)Completion of a Master's degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) in an academic discipline, higher education administration, or a related field;Five (5) years of full-time teaching experience, preferably at a community college, and/or academic administration experienceThree (3) years of progressively responsible experience directly related to academic administrative responsibilities (e.g., Division Chair, Director, or Department Coordinator).Essential Tasks: (Employee must be able to perform the following essential functions to the satisfaction of the employee's supervisor.)Provide leadership in disciplines solely staffed by adjunct faculty in Arts and Sciences, including but not limited to the assessment and evaluation of academic programs, student learning, general education outcomes and faculty performance.Assist A&S adjunct faculty with the development and offering of new courses.Collaborate with the preparation of course schedules and adjunct assignments.Recruit, recommend for hire, and onboard part-time faculty.Provide leadership in overseeing professional development opportunities for adjunct faculty within Arts and Sciences.Support student success through the mentorship and evaluation of adjunct faculty.Prepare and monitor administrative budgets and expenditures in consultation with the Dean of Arts and Sciences.Provide instructional leadership for the College Success department, including the teaching of one (1) section of Falcon Seminar in fall and one (1) section in the spring semesters.Develop program goals and objectives and monitor outcomes for the College Success department.The Associate Dean assists the Dean of Arts & Sciences in managing day-to-day operations, including budgetary input for operations and special projects.Perform assigned responsibilities, and other related duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.Benefits: ECC offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision and life insurance with no premium cost to the employee for employee only coverage. While the full salary range is provided for growth potential, most new hires are initially placed within the lower portion of the range based on experience and institutional compensation guidelines.
