Job Opportunity: Metabolic GeneticistOur organization is currently seeking a full-time Board Certified/Eligible Metabolic Geneticist to join the Department of Pediatrics. This role includes a faculty appointment at our School of Medicine, which will be determined based on your training and experience.This position is ideal for both newly trained and seasoned clinician-educators who possess a keen interest in various aspects of clinical genetics, particularly metabolic genetics. Key responsibilities will encompass:Providing patient careConducting inpatient consultationsManaging outpatient genetic clinicsCollaborating in multidisciplinary team environmentsTeaching medical students and residentsEngaging in research activitiesWe offer dedicated research time and encourage a focus on research initiatives. There are numerous opportunities for both intramural and extramural collaboration, as well as program development. The clinical genetics practice here is diverse, providing extensive experience in areas such as neurogenetics, cardiogenetics, cancer genetics, dysmorphology, and congenital anomalies. Additionally, a new inpatient facility is set to open later this year.Our clinical lab is in the process of establishing a cutting-edge genetic and genomic testing laboratory, aimed at delivering comprehensive diagnostic services throughout the health system and the Inland Empire region.Our School of Medicine also features an accredited graduate program (MS) in genetic counseling.Strategically located in Southern California, our Medical Center and Children's Hospital boasts the largest Level IV NICU in the state, catering to approximately 25% of California's population. The Children's Hospital is among the few facilities in California that perform pediatric cardiac transplants and ECMO, and it is developing a Perinatal Care Center focused on prenatal diagnosis to better support high-risk pregnancies and infants with congenital anomalies diagnosed before birth. Our Medical Center and Children's Hospital also provide specialized team centers for conditions such as cystic fibrosis, hemoglobinopathies, spina bifida, and craniofacial anomalies.Compensation & BenefitsThe starting base salary for this position ranges from $238,000 to $278,000, adjusted according to years of experience and faculty rank. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity incentives and is subject to departmental compensation plans.
