Resident Project Representative (RPR/Inspector)
Job DescriptionWe are actively hiring a Resident Project Representative (RPR/Inspector)! This is a great opportunity for somebody on the contractor's side to join the civil engineering side. The duties include conducting on-site observations to monitor progress and quality of work with the contract documents, serving as the engineer’s liaison with the contractor, maintaining adequate records, including a daily logbook and a set of drawings on which authorized changes are noted, reviewing the contractor’s application for payment, and other duties as assigned. The types of projects involved include municipal water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, water lines (underground), and sewer lines (underground).Job RequirementsProfessional experience in construction or inspection of municipal water distribution systems or municipal wastewater collection systemsExperience with water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, water lines, sanitary sewer lines, storm sewer lines, and pump stationsAbility to read civil construction plans and specificationsExcellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)Willingness to travel to project sites and stay overnight for projectsAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)Job TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Indianapolis, Indiana.Work EnvironmentThe role will require someone to be out in the field in all weather conditions. This person will be doing observation and writing daily reports on the construction activities for the dayTravel, Location, and Schedule:Candidates must be willing to travel to job sites across the State of Indiana, including Overnight Travel in Hotel/Apartment when necessary.Company will do their best to keep Inspectors as close to home as possible, but candidates must be comfortable working out-of-town.Projects further than a 90-minute commute will be evaluated to determine the best cost effectiveness - Daily mileage or hotel.Inspectors will use own vehicle, with Mileage reimbursed at the Federal Reimbursement Rate (currently 67 cents per mile).Hotels/Apartments are paid for by the company, and additional Per Diem is provided at $40/day when traveling.Standard Construction hours (7am to 4pm) with overtime.
