Penn MachineryNOW HIRINGPower Systems EstimatorMedford, NY; Poughkeepsie, NY; Newington, CTPay: $70,000-$90,000/year (dependent on experience)Bonus: 10% bonus potentialBenefits:Medical/dental/vision insurance401(k) with company matchHolidays & competitive PTOCompany laptop & cell phoneKey qualifications:3+ years of experience in estimating, preferably within power systems, electrical construction, generator systems, or a related industrial environmentExperience working with vendor proposal requests and bid evaluation processesFamiliarity with approved manufacturer/vendor programs and procurement processesStrong cost analysis skills to ensure competitive and profitable pricingDetail-oriented with high standards for accuracy and completenessStrong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple bids and deadlinesProfessional customer-focused mindset with a commitment to optimizing engagement and winning businessResponsibilities:The effective use of the estimating process, optimizing the likelihood of customer engagementGather and review all project documentsIdentify system components and requirementsReview logistical and site-specific conditions/factorsConfirm/identify approved manufacturers and vendorsIdentify scope gaps that may exist through requirements relative to: code and compliance; specific customer needs; testing and trainingOptimally priced products and services through the request for proposal processCompile BOM (Bill of Materials) from the takeoffIdentify vendors from whom to request proposalsUtilize quoting software to create quotes for generators and associated componentsRequest quotes from qualified/approved vendors - including internal service department for labor and equipment for testing purposesHigh quality estimates and quotations that lead to winning businessUse H.O. Penn quote template, create proposal using project specific requirementsClearly articulate any deviations from specificationArticulate terms and conditions for H.O.
