The role requires extensive experience in civil/structural engineering and involves supervising all phases of design, project controls, budgeting, and scheduling. As the lead engineer, you will ensure the timely delivery of high-quality structural deliverables within budget.Key Responsibilities:Review and approve all civil/structural deliverables, including estimates, change notices, and project scope.Establish design criteria and ensure compliance with state, local, and federal standards and codes.Lead project planning, track performance, and manage project budgets, schedules, and quality standards.Provide technical leadership, delegating tasks to engineers and designers and ensuring efficient progress.Participate in project meetings, representing the company in client discussions and during construction activities.Develop conceptual layouts, preliminary designs, and material take-offs.Produce and review detailed design calculations, construction specifications, and shop drawings.Lead small to large teams in delivering projects on scope, schedule, and budget.Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.Minimum 10+ years of relevant civil/structural engineering experience.Professional Engineering License (PE) in Alabama.Proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, RAM Structural Systems, and other relevant software.Strong knowledge of construction materials, structural analysis, and design codes.Preferred Skills:Experience with project controls, cost estimation, and man-hour budgeting.Ability to lead interoffice execution support and deliver convincing presentations.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Benefits:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife and disability insurance401(k) plan with matching contributionsPaid time off and holidaysOpportunities for professional development and continuous educationIf you are an experienced structural engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, we encourage you to apply.
