Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused IT Systems Support Engineer to provide technical support, systems administration, and technology solutions for small and medium-sized business environments. This position is responsible for troubleshooting network, server, workstation, and software-related issues while helping customers maintain secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage competing priorities. This individual will assess technical requirements, identify practical solutions, and communicate recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The role will support Microsoft Windows environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, network administration, endpoint security technologies, and enterprise IT management tools. Experience with software discovery, inventory, and Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions is highly desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience providing network, systems, and computer support services to small and medium-sized businesses.
Experience administering and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or later.
Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, Domain Services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows network administration.
Experience troubleshooting and supporting desktop, server, and network infrastructure.
Experience implementing and supporting endpoint security solutions, including antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, and email spam protection.
Ability to assess business and technical requirements and develop effective technology solutions.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain complex technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical users.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies, software platforms, and business processes.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive customer, business, and technical information.

Experience with software discovery, inventory, and configuration management tools, including:
Flexera Data Platform
FlexNet Manager Suite (FNMS)
Flexera One IT Asset Management
BDNA
BMC Discovery (formerly ADDM)
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM)
Or similar enterprise discovery and inventory solutions
Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Familiarity with Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), software licensing, software inventory, and application recognition.
Experience supporting cloud-based Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), and Intune.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V.
Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation.
Experience supporting backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP), consulting, or enterprise IT support environment.
Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified, CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+), ITIL Foundation, Flexera, or Software Asset Management certifications are highly desirable.

Salary Range:
The final salary can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, educational background, and certifications.
