Position: Safety SpecialistAbout the Role:This role is a hands-on opportunity to support and strengthen safety across our manufacturing operations. The position is primarily focused on being present on the production floor - building relationships, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping create a safe, positive work environment.You'll work closely with both operators and leadership to support day-to-day safety efforts, provide practical guidance, and help drive a strong safety culture. While there are administrative responsibilities, the focus is on taking a proactive, common-sense approach to safety rather than a purely paperwork-driven one.This role also includes supporting safety initiatives across multiple locations, including travel as needed. Early on, there will be an opportunity to lead and support key projects, with a long-term focus on maintaining a strong floor presence and continuous improvement.We're open to someone early in their career who is eager to learn, take initiative, and grow within the role.What You'll Be Doing:Spend the majority of time on the production floor promoting safe work practices.Conduct safety observations, audits, and risk assessments.Partner with leadership to address safety concerns and drive improvements.Lead incident investigations and support root cause analysis.Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.Support and manage environmental compliance programs.Manage and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS), including large-scale projects.Deliver safety training and onboarding support.Track and report safety metrics.Travel to support safety and compliance initiatives across company locations as needed.What We're Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related fieldExperience working with chemicals or coatings preferred, but not requiredExperience in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of environmental compliance (air permits, wastewater, RCRA, VSQG, etc.) preferred, but not requiredProject coordination or project management experiencePassion for safety and creating a positive, safety-focused cultureSelf-motivated with the ability to manage priorities independentlyStrong communication skills and ability to build relationships across teamsPractical, hands-on approach to safety with the ability to balance field work and administrative tasksOpenness to learning and supporting safety and compliance initiatives across the businessWillingness to travel as needed, including support at additional locationsWhat We Offer:Competitive compensation aligned with experienceComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance401(k) retirement plan with company matchGenerous paid time off, including company-paid holidaysOpportunity to grow and learn alongside passionate, driven colleaguesA collaborative environment that challenges you, supports you, and recognizes your contributionsWhere You'll Be: 49 Cotton Avenue, Stanford, KY 40484This position is fully onsite and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.What We'd Like from You:A resume that showcases your skills, experience, and readiness for this opportunity.Come and Be Inspired!For 40 years DecoArt has inspired creativity.
