This role involves developing microservices-based applications, supporting platform operations, and working across the full software development lifecycle.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with OpenShift, modern programming languages, and front-end frameworks, along with a strong understanding of container orchestration, automation, and secure application deployment.ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Red Hat OpenShift and KubernetesDevelop and maintain Kubernetes resources including pods, deployments, services, config maps, secrets, and ingress configurationsCreate and manage YAML manifests and utilize kubectl and OpenShift CLI (oc) commands for application deployment and administrationSupport application deployment, debugging, and operational tasks including log analysis and troubleshootingImplement and manage persistent storage solutions using PV/PVC and CSI driversSupport networking and service discovery within Kubernetes environments, including pod-to-pod communicationDevelop microservices using Java, Node.js, Python, or Go and build RESTful APIsBuild and maintain web applications using Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSSDevelop backend services using Spring Boot and front-end applications using frameworks such as React, Angular, or VueCollaborate with development and operations teams in an Agile environment to deliver scalable solutionsSupport CI/CD processes and build automation using tools such as Maven, Gradle, and JenkinsManage source code using Git-based repositories such as GitHub or GitLabDocument processes and maintain project artifacts using tools such as Jira and ConfluenceEnsure application security by implementing RBAC, managing secrets, and adhering to security best practicesRequired QualificationsMust be fully cleared with a recent polygraphMust be willing and able to work fully onsite at the location listed in this postingHands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and KubernetesStrong understanding of Kubernetes concepts including pods, deployments, services, replicasets, config maps, secrets, namespaces, and ingressExperience using OpenShift CLI (oc) for deployment, administration, and troubleshootingExperience with container storage and networking concepts including persistent volumes and service discoveryExperience developing applications using Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSSExperience with Spring Boot for backend developmentExperience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or VueExperience building and deploying microservices and RESTful APIsExperience working in Agile development environmentsExperience using Git for version control and collaboration#CJDesired QualificationsExperience administering and maintaining OpenShift clusters (version 4.16 or higher)Experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) and operator-based lifecycle managementExperience with scripting and automation using Bash or AnsibleExperience managing containerized workloads and scaling applicationsExperience with Linux or Windows system administration and shell scriptingExperience upgrading enterprise applications using frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPAExperience with application servers such as WebSphere or TomcatFamiliarity with container security tools such as PodmanExperience working with customer security requirements and compliance processesExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automation toolsExperience working with Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentationRed Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (EX280)Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)Red Hat Certified Cloud-Native Java Developer (EX378 or EX283)Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)Fantom Corp is a Software Development, Agile Cloud, Cyber Security (Risk Management, Assessments & Authorization (A&A)), Data, AI Platform (Computer Vision Models), Podcasting Media Services, and IT Services provider.
