Job Description Position SummaryJPM Excavation is seeking an experienced Pipelayer to install underground utility systems including water lines, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and fire line piping. This role works closely with equipment operators and crew members to ensure accurate, efficient, and safe installation of all pipe systems in accordance with project plans and specifications.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and align water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, and fire line pipe to proper line and grade.Set up and operate lasers, levels, transits, and grade rods for precise installation.Prepare trenches and bedding while adhering to OSHA trench safety standards.Connect pipe using appropriate methods (gaskets, mechanical joints, restraints, fusion, solvent welding, etc.).Install related structures such as manholes, catch basins, valves, hydrants, and fittings.Verify elevations, slopes, and pipe gradients to meet plans and specifications.Assist with backfilling, compaction, and site cleanup.Read and interpret blueprints, utility plans, and grade sheets.Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew to keep workflow and safety on track.Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working order.Qualifications2+ years of pipelaying experience (water/sewer/storm/fire line preferred).Strong understanding of underground utility installation and excavation safety.Ability to read construction drawings and interpret grade stakes.Experience with PVC, ductile iron, HDPE, CMP, and concrete pipe.Knowledge of trench shoring, sloping, and safe excavation practices.Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs. and working in various outdoor conditions.Valid driver's license; CDL a plus.Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.Preferred SkillsExperience in excavation or civil construction.Laser or GPS grade control experience.Confined space training.Familiarity with fire line installation standards.Work EnvironmentOutdoor construction sites with variable weather conditions.Exposure to heavy equipment, trenches, and loud noise.Full-time position; overtime may be required.Why Work at JPM ExcavationCompetitive wages based on experienceOpportunities for advancementSupportive team environment focused on safety and qualityPotential benefits and long-term career growthCompany DescriptionWe offer full Site preparation, Underground utility installation, land clearing, E & SCompany DescriptionWe offer full Site preparation, Underground utility installation, land clearing, E & S
