Position Summary The Full-Stack Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining both the front-end and back-end of our web applications. This role requires a broad technical skill set and the ability to work across the entire technology stack to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performant software solutions. The ideal candidate will be adept at problem-solving, eager to embrace new technologies, and passionate about delivering exceptional user experiences. Key Responsibilities Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using React and TypeScript on the frontend. Build RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints using Python (Flask/Django) or Node.js (Express.js) for the backend. Implement state management strategies using Redux or Context API. Ensure the responsiveness and quality of applications through effective unit and integration testing using Jest and React Testing Library. Collaborate with the team on architecture and database choices, MongoDB for document-based storage. Contribute to a continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipeline, leveraging containerization tools like AWS Fargate and knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes. Participate in code reviews and collaborate in an Agile environment to enhance team performance and product quality. Testing and Debugging: Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure application quality. Debug and resolve issues in both development and production environments. Conduct code reviews and adhere to best practices in software development. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality software. Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Communicate technical concepts and project status effectively to stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in full-stack development. Identify and implement improvements to development workflows, tools, and processes. Contribute to the development of internal documentation and knowledge sharing. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Cloud: AWS (Amazon Web Services) Key services used: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Fargate, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM, Secrets Manager, WAF, CloudTrail, Config. Development Tech Stack: Key services used: MongoDB, TimescaleDB, Kafka, Node.js, Express.js, React, Redux, GitLab Pipelines, Docker, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, AWS IAM, AWS WAF, AWS Secrects Manager, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config. Documentation and collaboration: Key applications used: Confluence, JIRA, HubSpot, Teams, Slack, LastPass, SharePoint, Microsoft 365. Compliance frameworks: SOC 2 Type 2, NIST Cybersecurity 2.0, PII, GDPR, CCPA, data encryption both in transit and at rest, role-based access control, audit logs and regular audits. Technical Skills: Proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of web applications. Proficiency in front-end technologies (React, TypeScript, CSS-in-JS or pre-processors like SASS). Solid experience in backend programming languages (Python and TypeScript) and frameworks (Flask/Django, Express.js). Familiarity with API design (REST or GraphQL) and authentication methods (OAuth or JWT). Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS, and managing containerized applications. Knowledge of DevOps practices and microservices architecture. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Adaptability: Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing project requirements.
