In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult cardiac patients with complex but stable conditions who require close monitoring, advanced assessment, and early intervention. Working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor hemodynamic and cardiac status, interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
The RN in Cardiac Progressive Care will coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. You will educate patients and their families on cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, discharge plans, and follow-up care, promoting long-term health and successful transitions. Responsibilities also include accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, adherence to hospital policies, infection prevention and safety standards, and active participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Methodist Hospital offers a supportive and inclusive culture that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and dedication to patient care. As part of our dynamic Cardiac Progressive Care team, you will precept new staff as appropriate, contribute to shared governance and unit-based councils, and help drive best practices in cardiac nursing. We provide opportunities for ongoing professional development, including cardiac-specific education, certification support, and career advancement within SA Health.
