301 - Customer Service - Cashier

Cashier PositionThe Cashier performs all register transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with Forman Mills policies and procedures. Provides a courteous, fast and friendly checkout to all customers entering and leaving Forman Mills. Principle duties and responsibilities include maintaining a clean and tidy checkout area, meeting or exceeding a fast and friendly customer checkout, ensuring outstanding customer service by greeting, assisting and thanking each customer in a positive approachable manner, ensuring all customer transactions are handled in a timely professional manner, presenting a positive image towards all team members, customers and the community, accurately scanning all merchandise to prevent any inventory adjustments, handling all cash transactions and providing accurate change, handling all media transactions including credit and debit accurately as to Forman Mills card acceptance guidelines, and being held fully accountable for all cash management/handling processes including over/shorts, counterfeit money and all Forman Mills register transactions on their dedicated register. Performs additional tasks when needed outside the front-end area to include salesfloor recovery, merchandising/stocking, markdowns, hanging and processing new merchandise, and helping deter theft by reporting all dishonest behavior to management and/or Loss Prevention department.Position requirements include the ability to work varied hours/days, including 2-3 nights per week, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business, the ability to work in different areas of the store such as selling floor, fitting room, and receiving as directed by supervisors and management, the ability to communicate effectively as it relates to communicating to customers and team members all Forman Mills written policy and procedures, training materials, directives and any other materials Forman Mills produces, the ability to perform basic math functions in order to operate the register, make change and conduct inventory, and physical requirements include lift up to 50 lbs. Use of hands and fingers in a continuous and repetitive activity. Adequate fitness level to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and repetitive lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.Minimum requirements include being 18 years or older, education: high school diploma or equivalent, cashier experience preferred but not required, job related skills: math, ability to count money and give accurate change, ability to handle different customer's personalities in a professional manner, high energy, positive attitude, friendly, courteous, excellent people skills, computer skills: POS software and equipment, calculator.
