We cater logistics strategies and processes to our customers' needs by utilizing the latest information systems and advanced technologies.Yard Scanner PositionThe Yard Scanner position is responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are scanned into the correct block for accuracy of locations. This position will be required to operate scanner equipment, company golf carts, vans, and small buses in a safe and productive manner.ResponsibilitiesScan vehicles into the correct location Update locations daily into the stock blocks, staging areas, etc.Have a good understanding of daily tasks, and perform in a safe mannerConduct inspections on golf carts, vans or buses, before operatingOperate radios and scanner equipment properlyReport all major issues found with units to department supervisor or managerEnsure all units are scanned into correct the staging areas or stock blocksCheck scanner often to make sure they are scanning into the correct locationScan units when possible into the locations using live or batch mode on the scannerCommunicate issues found with units that can not be updated into location, so issues can be resolved in a timely mannerDocument any issues found and/or corrected with vehicles in stock blocks or staging areas Complete inspection sheets and submit them to supervisor on a daily basisConduct daily tasks in a safe and productive manner, with minimal errorsNotify supervisor if assigned area needs assistanceNotify supervisor when leaving post or assigned work areaMake sure that any company vehicle that has been operated is clean, and that all personal items are removed at the end of the shiftMake sound decisions in preventing hazards to self, and co-workersReport all hazards, injuries, found damage and near misses to immediate supervisorReport any team member who does not adhere to company's policies or vehicle handling procedureOther duties as assignedSkillsAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writing RequiredAbility to follow verbal and written instructions RequiredAbility to work independently and in a team setting RequiredEffective time management skills RequiredStrong interpersonal skills RequiredAbility to organize work activities RequiredEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma/G.E.D RequiredMust hold a valid state-issued driver's license without restrictions RequiredGlovis America, Inc. adheres to the equal employment opportunity guidelines set forth by federal, state, and local laws.
