Physical Education Teacher (K-12)

POSITION TITLE: Physical Education Teacher (K-12)/Head Varsity Boys Basketball CoachQUALIFICATIONS: Valid Missouri teacher certificate for the appropriate level. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.REPORTS TO: Building or District AdministratorTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Teachers are contracted for days determined by the academic calendar approved by the West Platte School Board.JOB GOAL: To assist students in learning the appropriate subject matter, skills, and/or attitudes that will contribute to their development as responsible citizens.The West Platte School District, located in Weston, Missouri, has an opening for a dynamic leader to serve as a Physical Education teacher for the 2026-27 school year and beyond. Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, and other coaching positions may also be available.The successful candidate will: choose and implement appropriate methodology; apply varied instructional strategies that address the diversity of the learners; provide continuous feedback to students and families; communicate appropriately with students, parents, community and staff; use various ongoing assessments to monitor the effectiveness of instruction; align the assessments with the goals, objectives and instructional strategies of the district, implement Missouri Learning Standards, and effectively utilize instructional technology. Proper certification or proof of eligibility for certification is required.
