At Johnston Engineering, our customers want to build new products, devices, and machines but need help in the research, design, and test stages, so we provide detailed engineering design, analysis, and fabrication services so when our customers get their devices to market, they know they will work successfully. Job Description: We are seeking a Program Manager with at least 3 years of experience in managing concurrent of up to 10 projects, and 2 years of operations background. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for managing and executing projects, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and deliverables. Create and manage project Statements of Work (SOW), plans, and progress reports. Support the technical team in implementing solutions, maintaining quality standards, timeliness, and cost control. Support multidisciplinary teams in the design, fabrication, and operation of systems from Proof-of-Concept (POC) through prototyping to production. Track and monitor project performance, working with leadership to address issues, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure effective execution. Collaborate with the engineering team to lead project execution, including proposal preparation, coordination of weekly project meetings, and ongoing review and tracking of action items. Develop and update capacity planning of project forecasts and budgets, analyzing data such as unit cost estimates, revenue projections, and resource planning. Assist the business development team in identifying new opportunities within assigned projects. Prepare and present briefings for internal teams and customer reviews. Support operations by managing service partners and key suppliers for engineering deliverables. Maintain facility operations, including inventory management and equipment upkeep, to ensure safety and efficient space use. Assist in managing engineering build inventory and developing build work instructions. Required Skills: BS or BA and 3 years of experience as a program manager; or 5+ years of experience as a project manager. Demonstrated experience working in technology development with project management processes and methodologies Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in a dynamic environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Skills: PMI Project Management Professional certified (PMP) ISO9001 implementation and/or compliance management Drive & implement business process improvements Ability to be an influential member of an integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members Demonstrated ability to problem-solving and decision-making and communication skills. Knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes such as the design of machined parts, weldments, sheet metal parts, surfacing, design for injection molding, composites, automation, prototyping and mass production. Able to handle limited travel (less than 10%) to customer sites to assist in project development and delivery. Job Type: Full-time, in office (non-remote) Schedule: 9-hour days, Monday - Friday, with every other Friday off We work a hybrid “9/80 schedule”: 9-hour day schedule on a two 2-week cycle. Monday - Thursday are 9-hour days with Friday being an 8-hour day. Then the following Friday is an “off Friday” for an additional 26 non-working days per year.
