As we continue to grow, we're expanding our digital footprint and strengthening our brand story, and that's where you come in.Position SummaryThe Commercial Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of recyclable materials using a variety of heavy-duty commercial vehicles. This role requires a Class A CDL and the ability to operate multiple truck configurations, including tractor-trailer combinations and roll-off equipment. Drivers play a critical role in maintaining customer service standards, ensuring material integrity, and supporting daily recycling operations.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDriving & Equipment OperationSafely operate tractor-trailer combinations (18-wheeler) to transport recyclable materials between customer locations, transfer stations, and recycling facilitiesOperate roll-off trucks to deliver, exchange, and retrieve open-top containers and roll-off boxesOperate straight trucks as required by routing needsPerform coupling and uncoupling of trailers, including air lines and electrical connectionsSecure loads properly to prevent shifting, spillage, or loss of materials during transportRecycling & Yard OperationsLoad and unload recyclable materials safely, including metal, scrap, and other approved commoditiesVerify material types, quantities, and destination requirementsAssist with container placement at customer sites according to operational guidelinesSupport yard operations when not actively driving, including staging containers and assisting equipment operators as neededSafety, Compliance & InspectionsConduct pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route inspections in accordance with DOT regulationsMaintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and trip documentationComply with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policiesReport equipment issues, safety hazards, or incidents immediatelyFollow all PPE and site-specific safety requirements at customer and facility locationsCustomer & Team SupportRepresent the company professionally at customer sitesCommunicate effectively with dispatch, scale operators, yard supervisors, and customersAddress basic customer questions related to pickups, container placement, or schedulesSupport operational efficiency by adhering to routing and scheduling prioritiesQualificationsValid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)Clean or acceptable MVR per company and insurance standardsMinimum 5 years of experience operating tractor-trailer combinationsProven ability to operate roll-off trucks and multi-trailer configurationsKnowledge of DOT safety regulations and compliance requirementsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsPhysically able to climb in and out of trucks, secure loads, and perform inspectionsPreferred QualificationsExperience in recycling, waste management, scrap metal, or industrial haulingFamiliarity with open-top containers, roll-off boxes, and transfer operationsForklift or heavy equipment exposure (helpful but not required)Strong safety record with minimal or no preventable accidentsPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs occasionallyFrequent climbing, bending, and standingExposure to dust, noise, heavy machinery, and outdoor conditionsExtended periods of driving and equipment operationCompensation DOE
