Job Description Operations Manager (Value Stream Leader)Location: Hollister, CAPosition Type: Direct hireHourly / Salary: BOEResidency Status: US CitizenOverviewA leading advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a Value Stream Leader (VSL) to oversee end-to-end operations within a critical production value stream. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, production execution, continuous improvement, and team leadership across all phases of the manufacturing lifecycle.The Value Stream Leader will own performance across revenue, cost, quality, delivery, and inventory, while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.Core ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership & Value Stream OwnershipLead all aspects of manufacturing operations within the assigned value stream (purchase through shipment)Oversee daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual production targets and executionOwn value stream performance across revenue, cost, productivity, and program executionManage inventory levels, production flow, and operational efficiencyEnsure alignment between demand planning, production planning, and executionCross-Functional ManagementProvide leadership across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and production control teamsCoordinate activities across design engineering, manufacturing engineering, testing, and inspection functionsDrive collaboration to achieve operational goals and customer requirementsSupport bid planning and program execution in alignment with business objectivesContinuous Improvement & Lean ManufacturingChampion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologiesImplement standard work, process improvements, and root cause problem-solving initiativesUtilize continuous improvement systems (e.g., RBS or equivalent) to drive measurable resultsEstablish clear accountability, performance tracking, and process disciplineLead initiatives to improve productivity, cost of quality, and operational efficiencyPerformance Management & KPIsDrive achievement of key performance indicators, including:On-Time Delivery (OTD)Past Due Backlog (PDBL) reductionProduction/Delivery LinearityDefects per Unit (DLU) improvementRevenue attainmentSafety performanceMonitor and report on customer scorecard metrics and operational performanceIdentify risks and implement corrective actions to ensure targets are metTeam Leadership & Workforce DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop a high-performing, cross-functional teamFoster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvementEnsure proper training, cross-training, and workforce flexibilityPromote a positive, inclusive, and results-driven team environmentServe as a role model for leadership, collaboration, and change managementSafety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure a safe work environment and compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standardsDrive quality improvements and adherence to manufacturing standardsImplement and sustain standardized processes and quality control measuresEnsure consistent execution of corrective and preventive actionsQualifications & ExperienceExperience6+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, production leadership, or value stream managementProven leadership experience in a team-based, cross-functional manufacturing environmentDemonstrated success driving operational improvements, cost reduction, and performance metricsExperience leading projects, programs, or production teams with measurable resultsEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field, or equivalent experienceTechnical CompetenciesStrong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologiesExperience with ERP systems and manufacturing reporting toolsUnderstanding of production planning, inventory management, and supply chain operationsFamiliarity with quality systems, root cause analysis, and process optimizationKnowledge of end-to-end manufacturing processes (procurement through shipment)Professional SkillsStrong leadership, team building, and coaching capabilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all organizational levelsProven ability to drive accountability, performance, and cultural changeStrong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environmentHigh level of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement mindsetAdditional InformationRole requires hands-on leadership within a manufacturing/production environmentHigh visibility position with direct impact on operational performance and business outcomesOpportunity to drive continuous improvement initiatives and build high-performing teamsInvolvement in strategic planning, production optimization, and customer satisfaction efforts"We are GTN – The Go To Network"Company DescriptionGTN is the leader in SOW management & technical staffing, leveraging innovation to drive next-generation recruiting to Fortune 200 companies.Company DescriptionGTN is the leader in SOW management & technical staffing, leveraging innovation to drive next-generation recruiting to Fortune 200 companies.
