Project Manager (Bridge / Highway)

Overview: MasTec Civil is hiring a seasoned Construction Project Manager in Columbia, South Carolina to work with our growing infrastructure team on highway and bridge projects across the Midlands! Our Project Manager will be responsible for directing, planning and managing construction activities to help ensure project completion within assigned schedule and budget and in compliance with Company safety and procedural policies.  COMPANY OVERVIEW: Founded in 1987, MasTec Civil, LLC (formerly known as Condotte America) is a heavy highway contractor specializing in the construction of complex transportation projects that include roadway, bridges, interchanges, mass transit, and tolling facilities. building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; buildings, and infrastructure.  Responsibilities: Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and proceduresOversee all construction activities, specific to assigned discipline, on assigned projectConstruct the project and work with the management team to maximize the profit of the projectMonitor and oversee construction activities and personnel within the delivery timelines, including development plans and training requirementsResponsible for overall construction activity progress & performance along with monitoring and review of construction key performance indicatorsCooperate with all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all timesAct as a role model for the company’s vision and values, behaving in ways that are in alignment with the company’s ways of working while encouraging other to do so as wellPromote equality in the workplace and adopt appropriate behavior when interacting with colleaguesTake necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorized disclosure, modification or destructionBuild, Supervise & lead teamsCommunicate effectively with crew leads on goals and expectationsEnsure the Foremen manage crews and subcontractors to provide a safe work environmentManage Foreman and crews to work in a respectful, constructive and positive environmentManage the construction package elements of the procurement processMonitor contract performance against project milestones, budget and other established metricsCare for and sustain business relationships with multiple clientsEnsure Client expectations are being met, along with the agreement and scope of workBuild and maintain a relationship with Client Site Representatives to ensure open communication and trustEnsure all work in assigned discipline is done to the company Safety and Quality standardsBe proactive in equipment management, preventing equipment damages and planning of equipment resourcesComplete personnel administrative tasks in a timely manner; expectation documents, performance management, task planners, employee change forms, etc.Work closely with the Field Operations team on resource management to ensure we have the right people on the project at the right times to drive project profitabilitySupport Business Development, Estimating and Preconstruction efforts as needed Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Minimum 5 years’ experience in the heavy construction industry, knowledge of construction techniques and construction management. Must have bridge, roadwork, and DOT experience.    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward our company's Zero Injury principlesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
