Associate Project Engineer / Project Engineer

Emerson Tool Company is seeking an Associate Project Engineer/Project Engineer to join a collaborative global team focused on product design and development. In this role, you will contribute to all phases of new product creation-from early concept through full production-while also supporting sustaining engineering for existing product lines. You will be part of an innovative, cross‐functional environment where hands‐on engineering, rapid prototyping, and patentable ideas are encouraged and recognized. Emerson Tool Company proudly manufactures RIDGID Wet/Dry Vacs, ProTeam commercial products, and related accessories.In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Develop new product designs from concept through production for complex projects and major product lines in a Lean environment.Support defined market requirements by ensuring products meet performance, functionality, and customer expectations.Establish project budgets, plan staffing needs, schedule project activities, and manage engineering resources to meet key deadlines.Review and communicate project status through written and verbal updates; recommend adjustments to plans or objectives when needed.Apply engineering theory and sound engineering practices to solve mechanical and fabrication challenges, including material and component selection.Specify, request, and assist in building aesthetic and functional prototypes using rapid prototyping technologies and conventional fabrication.Monitor and support laboratory testing and agency testing/approvals throughout product development.Provide support for sustaining engineering to maintain current products and address production-related issues.Participate in hands‐on activities including product tear‐downs and builds.Who You Are:You identify and seize new opportunities, using both creativity and sound judgment to drive progress. You plan and prioritize effectively, staying focused on key objectives while adapting to changing needs.For This Role, You Will Need:Bachelor's degree: BSME, BSEE, or equivalent required (candidates actively working toward a BS in Engineering are acceptable).Exposure to 3D modeling/drafting/CAE.Ability to communicate technical information clearly with internal and external partners by phone, email, and in person.Ability to identify, analyze, and solve engineering problems; sort and differentiate information; and follow structured problem‐solving, documentation, and reporting processes.Ability to use various hand tools and full‐size power tools.Ability to travel domestically and internationally.Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:Master's degree: MSME, MSEE, or an advanced degree/certification in a related field.3-5 years of experience in engineering; experience in product design and development preferred.Prior internship or co‐op in engineering or equivalent experience in product design and development.Proficiency with 3D modeling/drafting/CAE.Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with cross‐functional teams and employees at all organizational levels.Plastic design experience, including injection, rotational, and blow molding.Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.Experience applying FEA or CFD analysis in product design.Previous design experience with power tools, HVAC products, or other applicable consumer‐based products.Our Culture and Commitment To You:At Emerson, we strive to create a workplace where every employee feels respected, valued, and able to thrive.
